The Old Red Lion Inn is a hotel in Cambridge, near Newmarket. The Old Red Lion Inn dates back to its 18th Century days and was originally an old farm house. The lodges offer comfortable accommodation in a charming setting.
We are fortunate that the Thurlow ~ Point to Point Race Course is located just over the road from us. The villagers take their dogs over to all of the meets and enjoy a wonderful day out making a fun full day out for the family.

About The Hotel and Cambridge
There are 12 comfortably furnished, en-suite bedrooms, including ground floor rooms some with disabled facilities. They are all situated in attractive buildings around the main building and restaurant, allowing for a more tranquil stay. We have wireless broadband and satellite channels in all the letting rooms that are included in the price.
The bar area has been recently refurbished, providing comfort seating area including leather settees and high butchers block tables to look out of the windows across the fields. A good selection of wines, spirits & cask conditions beers are available & a bar menu is available at lunch time and evenings and our resturant is open from 6pm until 9pm Monday - Saturday evenings.
Boasting a Yorkshire stoned floor and period designed restaurant where our brand new menu is available throughout the day. Our Sunday Carvery is always very popular and a reservation is essential. Freshly prepared bar food or the restaurant menu is available 12-3pm and 6-9pm. We have themed nights throughout the month with live bands and entertainment. During January of this year, our bar has had a complete refurbishment making it more light & airey.
Horseheath is close to the historic market town of Saffron Walden. Audley End House and linton Zoo are also nearby. The university town of Cambridge is a 20 minute drive to the north. To the east lie the pretty Suffolk villages of Clare and Long Melford. Bury St Edmonds, with it's beautiful abby ruins and gardens, is a short drive away. We are also a 20 minutes drive from Newmarket the capital of Horse Racing in the UK. Tattersals Horse sales is also an attraction throughout the year with Sales Dates available from Tattersals direct.
