Our A La Carte Menu changes seasonally – please contact us for more information about our menu.

All of our food is prepared fresh to your order by our chef. Our meat, fish and produce is all sourced locally and we always use fresh vegetables and ingredients.

Monday – Thursday 12.00 – 2.30pm and 6.00 – 9.00pm
Friday 12.00 – 2:30pm and 6.00.00 – 9.30pm
Saturday 12.00 – 9.30pm
Sunday Carvery 12.00 – 6.00pm

(with exception of bank holidays when food is available from 12 to 4pm)

Local and organic produce is our priority

Wherever possible we use local produce and proudly support local producers. Where we can, we place emphasis on organic foods and have created good relationships with high quality farmers and food producers nearby.

Sunday Carvery

2 hour sitting per table

Served every Sunday all year round, between 12-6pm. our Sunday Carvery is freshly prepared using only locally sourced fresh produce. Vegetarian options are also available.

Gluten-free gravy is available on request. Contact us in advance if you would like vegetarian gravy.

As our Sunday Carvery is very popular, booking is advised.

Once again we had a great night at the Old Red Lion. The meal was excellent, staff friendly and efficient and the atmosphere was welcoming. Thanks for a great night out. This must be our 5th time here – don’t see any reason to try anywhere else.

Recently stayed for one night- couldn't fault the hotel or staff.

Arrived prior to the 14:00 check in time however the room was ready. Lovely large, very clean room with very comfortable bed – beautiful large bathroom. Could not fault in any way at all. Had Lunch on arrival which was lovely again could not fault in any way – again same for breakfast the following morning.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Old Red Lion Inn after seeing Ian and Tracy on Channel 4’s Four In A Bed television programme. We arrived on a Friday evening and enjoyed the lively bar which had a great atmosphere. Rather than heading into the restaurant, we enjoyed dinner in the bar area where I had one of the best homemade burgers I’ve ever eaten.

Breakfast was the real highlight, co-owner Ian personally cooked our breakfast and brought it out to us and asked us if we were enjoying our stay. He also gave us great advice on things to do and see locally in Cambridge. Breakfast was delicious, I was so impressed I took a picture which I’ve uploaded with this review!

We met with family at the Old Red Lion and ordered from the lunch menu and it was fabulous. My children both have food allergies and they were easily able to cater for them, with an allergy guide available to help us select suitable food. I had the pulled pork brioche burger and it was gorgeous. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely visit again!!

We were invited here by friends and had a table of 6. The service was very friendly and knowledgeable. My pinot grigio was superb and my husband had a very nice shiraz. I ordered the curry with naan bread which was served beautifully with mango chutney. My husband’s pie looked amazing with the separate pot of gravy – very cute. The decor was just perfect (especially with ‘wood’ wall). If we are in the area again we will definitely visit.

Norwich Blue Bells - Norwich

Stayed here 2 nights while on business. Room was large and comfortable. I was last here 10 years ago, when it was owned by a brewer and was nice. The new owners bring this back to on-site owners (I saw them at dinner and breakfast) and they refurbished all the rooms and baths.

Nice, walk-in shower. Best Wi-Fi I encountered in the UK. While it did not have a desk to work on, it had a dresser that worked just as well. Friendly check-in and great breakfast. I had requested an e-mail reservation to keep our travel department happy, and they did that as well. Spotless. When my original taxi didn’t show, the owner called one for me.

We visited this restaurant / pub last Sat evening with our daughter who lives locally and enjoyed a delicious 3 course meal.

I can not praise the staff enough, we had two young ladies serve us with the utmost of professionalism, those two ladies deserve a special mention as it was a delight to be served by them, so friendly and helpful this is very rare these days! Well done girls the owner of this pub / restaurant should be very proud of you.

A round of applause for the Chef too, our meals were delicious the presentation was on par to any Michelin star restaurant and we have been in a few!
