Conveniently located between Cambridge, Newmarket, and Haverhill, The Old Red Lion is the perfect venue for hosting private functions. Whether you're planning a wedding, wake, or business meeting, we offer flexible layout options, settings, and menus to suit your needs.

Functions

We cater to intimate weddings, wakes, and various social functions, making Horseheath an ideal location for gatherings of all types. For business events, our venue provides a great off-site meeting space with access to ensuite accommodation and convenient transport links to Cambridge (15 minutes) and London (via rail and the M11).

Our facilities include:

A private dining area segregated from the main restaurant, perfect for small gatherings and meetings.
The option to utilise our outdoor space, including our uniquely decorated themed pods, or you can hire the entire restaurant for exclusive use.

We work closely with you to design the perfect event, with bespoke menus and pricing tailored to your preferences and budget.

Lovely staff, good drinks, nice gin collection, and just superb food.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Stayed here on business for six nights, I chose the Old Red Lion Inn because of its quiet country location.  Other plus points it offers are an onsite restaurant, which is very good and free parking. All of the staff were very helpful and if I was in the area again I would definitely use the Old Red Lion Inn again.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. A group of us went for Sunday lunch on Mother’s Day. The service was very friendly, food delicious and fantastic portion sizes. A really varied menu with options for everyone young or old, even on a Sunday. We’re really lucky to have such a brilliant local!
